MPSJ Officer Jailed 4 Years & Fined RM1.28 Milliion Or 15 Years Jail If He Does Not Pay Fine

MPSJ officer jailed 4 years and fined RM1.28mil for faking invoices

Sessions Court judge Asmadi Husin also ordered 41-year-old Ahmad Faizal Azhar to serve 15 years in jail if he did not pay the RM1,280,600 fine.
Asmadi, however, allowed a stay pending an appeal at the High Court on the imprisonment term with a RM50,000 bail.
He did not allow a stay on the fine.
In his ruling, the judge said the defence of Ahmad Faizal, who was an MPSJ community service assistant director, was a bare denial and failed to raise reasonable doubt.
He was first charged in March with 15 counts of making the false submission to MPSJ corporate and planning director Hamizun Mohd Basar and community development department director Haini Salleh at the MPSJ office on Jan 7, Nov 30, and Dec 30, 2011.
The 15 fake invoices were on the supply of 98 Zon Bersih sign boards and 460 dumpsters worth RM256,120. The items were never supplied.
DPP Nor Azah Kasran from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission prosecuted while Ahmad Faizal was represented by lawyer Mohd Shahrullah Khan Nawab Zadah Khan.
