BUKIT KAYU HITAM: Police detained a suspected triad member with a 'Gang 04' tattooed on his arm as he was returning from Thailand on Friday.

The 28-year-old suspect was caught under "Ops Cantas Khas" at a road-block near the border around  3.15am.
  

Bukit Aman Anti-Vice, Gaming and Secret Societies Division (D7) assistant director (Custody) Assistant Commissioner Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the suspect was detained after the enforcement officer found the tattoo on his arm.  
  

Kamarul Zaman said they believed the gang members were attempting to return home after fleeing to the neighbouring country during the nationwide crackdown on secret societies since August.

"We received information that the gang members were hiding in the neighbouring country and are trying to return home.
