Taste of Malaysia - Sabah & Sarawak @ Westin KL

The first half of Westin Kuala Lumpur's Taste of Malaysia culinary journey of the 14 different states in Malaysia came to an end last Thursday with the East Malaysia states of Sabah & Sarawak traditional food being on offer. Celebrity Chef Ismail and Westin KL's Chef Hamdan combined to take guest on a culinary trip to East Malaysia.



Sabah's diverse dishes range from Chinese, Malay and traditional Kadazan specialities. One of the favourite local picks is known as the 'Ngiu Chap" which means mixed beef.

Sarawak specialties include Umai, a traditional Melanau dish and a popular Iban Delicacy called Pansoh Manok. The other more common dishes that were offered include dishes such as  Sarawak Laksa, Kolok Mee., Tomato Mee and Layered Cake.

The "Taste of Malaysia" culinary journey takes a break for the month of Ramadan and will resume again on September 5, 2013 showcasing the delicacies from the state of Negeri Sembilan .
