The ringgit reached 4.4000 against the US dollar

Earlier at 8am, the ringgit rose to 4.4930/5010 against the US dollar from 4.4945/4995 when it closed last Friday.
The performance was a continuous strong rise of the ringgit against the US dollar for 11 consecutive days.
The previous high was at 4.4000/4025 which was recorded on April 14, 2023.
This morning, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government is grateful because lately the country has received a lot of recognition by recording progress in terms of economy and growth including the strengthening of the ringgit.
"This success is of course because the politics are more stable, then the policy and framework are clearer," he said at a monthly gathering with the staff of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) in Putrajaya.
