JDT is the eighth best club in Asia, the first ranking in Southeast Asia

JOHOR Darul Ta'zim (JDT) set a record of its own when it is now ranked the eighth best team in Asia based on updated data by the Opta Analyst statistics site on Wednesday.
The Southern Tigers squad collected 77.8 points and saw an increase of eight places from the 16th position in the previous update.
The matter was shared on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page, which also informed that the squad managed by Hector Bidoglio remained in the top ranking for teams in Southeast Asia.
"JDT Club is currently ranked 279th in the world, eighth in Asia and first in Southeast Asia based on data released by the Opta Power Ranking website on 28 August 2024.
"This football analysis site lists almost 13,500 football club rankings worldwide. No other team from Malaysia is in the top 1,000 worldwide," he said.
JDT is still fresh from a stunning victory when they beat Selangor FC 6-1 in the FA Cup final recently, thus strengthening their credibility as the best team in the country.
Meanwhile, Selangor FC is ranked 1,256th in the world, 122nd in Asia after collecting 68.2 points while Terengganu FC is ranked 1,734th in the world and 189th in Asia with 65.5 points
