SHAH ALAM: A 34-year-old man was killed after falling into a palm kernel processing machine at a factory in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat, yesterday.
Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor@ Saleh said they were alerted to the incident at 9.15 pm.
"According to the factory manager, the victim, who had been working there for just eight days, took a break at 1 pm and resumed work 50 minutes later.
"The manager said that when the victim's colleagues came back from their break at 2.30 pm, they found him missing and the machine operating unattended," he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Ridhwan said the search conducted by the victim's colleagues led to the discovery of a shoe, pieces of clothing, and human bone fragments believed to belong to the factory operator, at the end of the conveyor belt at 5.57 p.m.
"There are no criminal elements involved in the incident and the police have classified the case as sudden death," he said adding that the remains had been taken to Banting Hospital's forensic unit.
