KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of the former Yang di-Pertua of Sarawak, the late Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib filed a police report after claiming she was prevented from entering her residence in Kuching, Sarawak, last week.
Through a post on Instagram, she informed that the incident occurred when she returned to the area to visit the deceased's grave and deliver alms on behalf of her husband.
However, he said, as soon as he arrived at the residence, he was stopped by the guard on duty and informed that Raghad Kurdi was not allowed to enter.
"But Alhamdulillah, the kind guard allowed me in. God will always protect and defend those who are oppressed," he said.
In the message, Raghad also shared several photos showing his presence at the gate of the residence with security guards and when visiting Abdul Taib's grave.
Following the incident, Raghad said, he made a police report including the necessary application in court.
"I do all this with a heavy heart, I don't have to prove anything to anyone.
"He (Abdul Taib) is my husband, but I have to record the shameful acts done to me and demand justice.
"I know I've never shared a story before, but it's time to do so," he said.
Abdul Taib died last February 21 at a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur at the age of 87.
