[Ulu Tiram Police Station Attack: Two arrested released unconditionally
Johor Police Chief Commissioner M Kumar said the arrested person who was released was a 22-year-old man who was also a private college student.
He said another person who was released was a 21-year-old woman who was also a student of a training institution who was arrested on the day of the incident.
"The two arrested were detained for investigation under Section 302 of the penal code and were released on Tuesday, after receiving instructions from the Attorney General's Office, Putrajaya.
"However, the investigation against the family of five is still continuing as the remand period for all of them will end this Friday (May 24).
"The public is advised not to speculate, manipulate facts or make any comments on social media regarding this incident, as this may threaten public order and interfere with the police's investigation," he said in a statement here today.
Last Friday, two policemen, the late Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar, 22, and the late Constable Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said, 24, died as a result of being shot and slashed by a suspect believed to be related to Jemaah Islamiyah members.
They were buried in their respective hometowns in Bidor, Perak and Gambang Pahang.
Meanwhile, another policeman who was injured by gunshots in the left shoulder and hip is in a stable condition and is still being treated at the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI).
Following that, seven individuals were arrested including five from a family aged between 19 and 62 years old.
