The national men's indoor hockey SQUAD failed to defend the championship at the 2024 Asian Indoor Hockey Cup after being beaten 1-7 by Iran in the final action today.

The result saw Iran reclaim the cup for the ninth time out of 10 editions after 2022 belonged to Malaysia.
However, both the Malaysian and Iranian teams have booked slots to the 2025 Indoor Hockey World Cup in Porec, Croatia on Feb 3 to 9 next year.
