National winger and also Selangor FC, Faisal Halim has been discharged from the hospital after more than two weeks receiving treatment after being splashed with acid.
Faisal underwent four operations to treat the fourth degree burns injury.
According to the statement, based on the observation and treatment of the specialist doctor on duty, Faisal's recovery from the serious injury was extraordinary and exceeded the expectations of all parties.
"The club would like to say a million thanks to Dr Wan Syazli Rodzaian Wan Ahmad Kamal, Plastic and Reconstructive Unit Specialist, all the people of Avisena Specialist Hospital and Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara.
"They were always committed to providing comprehensive care, as well as contributing greatly to the treatment and rehabilitation of Faisal Halim," according to the statement.
According to Selangor FC, Faisal is now entering the next phase of his treatment and recovery process.
Therefore, the club and Faisal's family also request that all parties give space and privacy for him to go through the recovery process in the best possible way.
"The highest appreciation is also expressed to the Selangor FC extended family, state and national leaders, government and private bodies, the local and international football community.
"Also to all Malaysians who have prayed for well-being and given encouragement to the football icon of our beloved country," according to the statement.
Selangor FC also invites Malaysians to continue to pray for Faisal's well-being and full recovery and to pray for him and his family to continue to be given strength to overcome these difficult times.
