A 47-year-old man died while another two were injured in an incident where a large tree fell on Jalan Sultan Ismail on Tuesday evening.

Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Kuala Lumpur State Assistant Director of Operations M Fatta M Amin said the victims were trapped in their respective vehicles and were successfully pulled out by firefighters.
"One of the victims was confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health (KKM) staff while the other injured continued to receive treatment at the scene of the incident," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He informed that the incident caused 17 vehicles to be damaged and the nearby monorail track was also obstructed by branches from the fallen tree.
The incident also caused damage to public facilities in the area including the bus stop on the side of the route.
"The Kuala Lumpur Operations Center received an emergency call at 14.19 in the evening, and sent machinery to the scene.
"The release of the operation team from BBP Jalan Hang Tuah together with three aid stations, BBP Titiwangsa, BBP Jalan Tun Razak and BBP Sentul with FRT-4 and EMRS-4 machinery, with a strength of 27 members of other ranks," he said in the statement.
A large tree fell on Jalan Sultan Ismail on Tuesday evening following heavy rain and strong winds in the area.
Based on some pictures and videos spread on social media, the location of the incident is near a hotel and a shopping complex there.
The video and pictures show several cars badly crushed as a result of being hit by the big tree.

The two victims who were reported injured in the incident of a fallen tree in Jalan Sultan Ismail here on Tuesday are believed to be the e-hailing driver and the Swedish passenger.
Dang Wangi District Deputy Chief of Police, Superintendent Nazron Abd Yusof said, the incident at about 2pm involved 17 vehicles of various types that were hit by the tree involved.
He said, a vehicle that was hit involved a 47-year-old local male victim who was confirmed dead.
"The body was taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) for an autopsy.
"There are two more victims who have been brought to HKL involving a local man and a Swedish woman who are most likely the e-hailing driver and passenger," he told reporters at the scene of the incident on Tuesday.
According to him, action has been taken by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to clean the area.
"The route will be completely closed for cleaning operations and will be reopened after it is completely completed," he said.
He added that the police also suggested the owner of the vehicle and the injured victim to come forward and make a report for further action.
"The police will also get witnesses to the incident in addition to tracing family members of the deceased," he said.
The operation at the scene of the incident also involved the strength of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM).
