SHOPEE has now announced an increase in the commission fee for the use of their platform, named Shopee Marketplace Commission Fee.

The new fee will become active on March 20, 2024, where it will see the commission rate increase by up to one-fold.

Through some examples given, among them electronic goods with the current commission fee rate between 2.5% and 4%, will be increased to between 4% and 8%.

Likewise for the FMCG category which will reach a rate of 8% under the new fee structure, fashion items reach 7% and lifestyle items reach 7%.

This rate is without the inclusion of SST, where with the inclusion of the 8% SST charge, it will reach slightly higher.

Shopee states that this fee will be charged to stores that have been operating for more than 120 days only.

While stores under 120 days will not be charged any commission fee.
