The Malaysian delegation, led by Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital aims to strengthen ties between the two nations and explore opportunities for mutual growth and development in the digital ecosystem. - MDEC

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Digital and its agency Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) embarked on an official visit to Cambodia from 10th to 12th March to participate in the Digital Government Forum (DGF) 2024.

The Malaysian delegation, led by Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital aims to strengthen ties between the two nations and explore opportunities for mutual growth and development in the digital ecosystem.

DGF 2024 is a platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to engage in insightful discussions on leveraging digital technologies for efficient governance. With a focus on sharing best practices, innovative solutions, and collaborative initiatives, the forum provided a unique opportunity for Malaysia and Cambodia to enhance their digital capabilities.

During the visit, business documents were exchanged between Malaysian and Cambodian companies, laying the foundation for future collaborations. The ceremony was organised by MDEC and witnessed by Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital and Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia. The documents encompassed areas such as property tech, customer engagement and cybersecurity.




The companies involved are as follows:

i. IQI Global from Malaysia and Premium Housing Group from Cambodia: This MoU establishes the Cambodia-Malaysia-China (CMC) High Tech Park in Kandal Province. Focused on driving high-tech industries in IT, biotech, life science, and manufacturing, it aims to create a sustainable supply chain. The initiative includes setting up a TVET hub and training for approximately 1.5 million young Cambodian workers.

ii. CTAPPS MSC Sdn Bhd from Malaysia and Paxxa Mobile Solutions Co. Ltd. from Cambodia: This MoU signifies the unwavering commitment of CTAPPS and Paxxa Mobile Solutions’ understanding that it is necessary to establish and strengthen cooperative efforts related to the provision of intelligent security solutions and cyber security-related services in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

iii. Provintell Technologies Sdn Bhd from Malaysia and Cellcard from Cambodia: This agreement exchange signifies the industry's resilience, fostering a secure environment for telecommunication services and promoting the integrity of communication networks in the face of evolving cyber risks.
