Roger Ng is already in Malaysia -KPN
ROGER NGKUALA LUMPUR: Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has confirmed that former Goldman Sachs bank officer Roger Ng is already in the country.
When contacted however, he refused to confirm Roger's current location due to security reasons.
He said, Roger arrived in the country last night to help with the investigation process related to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. (1MDB) and the asset recovery process involving the funds.
"I confirm, he is already in this country," he said simply.
Yesterday, the media reported that several Malaysian law enforcement agencies are awaiting the return of Roger who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States (US) to complete their respective investigations into the 1MDB scandal.
Among the agencies expected to require information or investigate associates of businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low are the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
In addition, the former Goldman Sachs investment chief is likely to be required by the Securities Commission (SC) and the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Yesterday, the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution confirmed that Roger will be brought back to this country.
Saifuddin said, how long Roger will be in Malaysia depends on the investigation process.
