PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today hosted a dinner in conjunction with the working visit of his Thai counterpart Srettha Thavisin at Seri Perdana here.
The arrival of Srettha and his delegation at the Prime Minister's official residence at about 7.30pm was greeted by Anwar.
Also present were Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin and Thai Ambassador to Malaysia Lada Phumas.
Earlier, the two leaders held a meeting at Perdana Putra to discuss efforts to improve bilateral relations.
Before that, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had agreed to meet Srettha at the Istana Negara.
Srettha is currently on a two-day working visit to Malaysia, which started today, and it is his first visit to the country after being sworn in as the Prime Minister of Thailand on Sept 5.
Anwar and Srettha previously held a meeting outside the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York last month.
In 2022, Thailand is Malaysia's seventh largest trading partner and the third largest in ASEAN with a trade value of RM122.03 billion (US$27.75 billion), a 17.9 percent increase compared to RM97.55 billion (US$23.54) for the previous year.
