MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS, Hannah Yeoh, congratulated the national contingent for successfully surpassing the target of 27 medals in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
Yesterday, the national squash squad won two golds and one silver, while another silver from karate and one bronze from the compound archery squad, ensuring that the national contingent collected 28 medals so far, thus surpassing the target set before the 19th edition of the Games.
"I would like to congratulate and well done to the Malaysian contingent who have managed to collect 28 medals today," he said when met at the Astro Arena in Hangzhou yesterday.
"And congratulations also to the gold medal winners, we added two more gold medals today.
"This is the strong effort of all our athletes and sports associations and the National Sports Council (MSN).
"I hope that when we come back later, we will study all the results and see how to further empower these medal winners so that they continue to excel.
"Well done to everyone and thank you to the media for providing excellent coverage for our athletes," he said.
