Continuous heavy rain in Kelantan, Pahang until tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 -- The Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a bad weather or orange warning of continuous heavy rain until tomorrow (Dec 19) for Kelantan and Pahang.
In a statement issued today, (MetMalaysia) said, the areas affected in Kelantan is Gua Musang, while in Pahang, they are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran and Kuantan.
It also issued a yellow rainstorm warning for Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang Selangor, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, as well as Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
Continuos heavy rain until tomorrow is also forecast in Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu (Kedah), and in Kelantan, involving areas in Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bahru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Putih and Kuala Krai.
In Pahang, continuous rain with yellow warning is issued for Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera, Pekan and Rompin, as well as Alor Gajah in Melaka.

More than 3,000 flood victims evacuated to 30 PPS in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 18 -- Some 3,086 victims have been evacuated so far to 30 relief centres (PPS) due to floods in the Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts following continuous heavy rain in Selangor since Friday.
State Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said 20 PPS have been opened in Klang to accommodate 2,604 of the victims.
He said most of the victims were evacuated at the PPS at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Telok Gong and SK Johan Setia, totalling 681 and 793 people, respectively.
The remaining 19 PPS are in Sepang and Kuala Langat, involving 482 victims.
Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, through his Tweet on Twitter, said volunteers from Team Selangor and Selangor Volunteer (SERVE) have been mobilised to assist the flood victims.
The Meteorological Department has issued yellow rainstorm warnings for parts of Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, and Selangor. There will be continuous rainfall in these areas until Dec 18.
