COVID -19: 64.2 percent of adult population complete vaccination - JKJAV

KUALA LUMPUR: The National COVID-19 Immunization Program (PICK) continues to show encouraging progress as 64.2 per cent or more than 15.03 million individuals from the adult population nationwide have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of Tuesday.
The recipients of the first dose from adults were 84.3 percent or more than 19.74 million people, according to the Special Committee on Guaranteeing Access to the COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) via infographic sharing on Twitter.
For the entire population of Malaysians, 46 percent have been fully vaccinated, while another 60.5 percent have received the first dose injection
JKJAV explained that the cumulative number of vaccines given through PICK as of yesterday was 34,752,340 doses.
Labuan continues to record the highest vaccine dose rate with 94 percent or 64,415 people of the adult population having completed two doses of vaccine.
This is followed by the Klang Valley with 92 per cent (5,688,302 people), Sarawak 87.1 per cent (1,778,498 people), and Negeri Sembilan 78.8 per cent (642,142 people), Perlis 66.5 per cent (120,432 people), Melaka 58.4 per cent (395,793 people), while Penang 56.6 percent (773,772 people).
Meanwhile, the number of daily vaccinations on Tuesday showed a decrease compared to Monday from 361,381 doses to 261,768.
It involved 115,473 first doses and 146,295 second doses, respectively.
PICK was launched on February 24 to move the country towards achieving the COVID-19 herd immunity goal.
