PETALING JAYA: False claims of vaccination certificates of Malaysian travellers being rejected by Hong Kong authorities are being circulated via messaging apps and social media.

A check on the official website of Hong Kong's Department of Health shows a list of all the vaccines currently being administered under Malaysia's National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) with the recommended doses as being recognised for specific purposes by its government.

The vaccines listed are Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinovac, Oxford AstraZeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm and Sputnik V.

It also notes that Malaysia - along with 27 other countries - is under Group B of high-risk specified places which require unvaccinated Hong Kong residents who have stayed in any of the countries to undergo compulsory quarantine for 21 days and take four Covid-19 tests during quarantine.

For vaccinated Hong Kong travellers, they are required to undergo 14 days of compulsory quarantine at a designated hotel and take three Covid-19 tests during the period.
