KUALA LUMPUR: Two more Covid-19 cases have been identified in Malaysia, bringing the total number to 21, says the Health Ministry.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad (pic) said the two cases involved Chinese nationals – one a businessman aged 27 and the other a woman aged 32.


The man with some symptoms was screened at the entry point at Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah on Friday (Feb 14).

"Clinical sample (throat swab) was taken, and this morning the test result confirmed he had Covid-19.


"He was admitted to the isolation ward in Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Kedah," Dr Dzulkefly said during the launch of the SK Desa Aman, Desa Coalfield's Parent-Teachers Association meeting in Kuala Selangor on Saturday (Feb 15).

He handed out 5,000 units of hand sanitisers (500ml) to 95 schools in the Kuala Selangor parliamentary constituency.

The other case was woman had been living in Malaysia and had gone back to China to visit her family on Jan 22 to 30, he said.

She too tested positive for Covid-19 upon returning, he added.

The ministry said more details would be disclosed later.
