Dr M wants Malaysian businessmen to seek Chinese partners to penetrate China market

BEIJING: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad wants Malaysian businessmen to hook up with Chinese partners in order to penetrate the market there.
The Prime Minister said getting products into the world's second largest economy was not easy.
"We have been trying to sell cars in China but up to now, we have failed, until we teamed up with a Chinese company," he said.
The Prime Minister was referring to the partnership between Proton Holdings and China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.

The event was held in conjunction with his five-day official visit to China, which began last Friday (Aug 17).
On the Malaysian Government's part, the Prime Minister said he would try to hold talks and reach an understanding with the Chinese government over this matter.
Dr Mahathir also said that language should not be a barrier to trading with China.
"Everywhere I went, they briefed me in English.
"The whole world did not learn all the languages in order to trade with (different) countries.
"So language should not be a problem even if you don't speak Chinese," he pointed out.
Dr Mahathir began the third day of his official visit to China by witnessing a drone demonstration in the capital city.The outdoor demonstration was carried out by one of the world's largest drone manufacturer Da Jiang Innovations (DJI).
