Idris Jala's appointment as 'independent party", the right move
KANGAR: The appointment of former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala as an “independent party” to probe into the Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) boardroom tussle, is the right decision.
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi in voicing his full support on the move, said as an independent party, Idris could scrutinise the suspension of FGV chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer and two others by the board transparently and without prejudice.
Puad, who is also the Special Affair Department(Jasa) director general, pointed out that the appointment which was aimed at establishing the facts of the case and recommending the way forward.
"The government want to make sure no one would get away with their wrongdoings and most importantly no cover ups.
"By right, there should not be any open war between FGV president and its chairman.
"It is hoped that Idris could find a solution to this conflict, which, if left un-addressed would adversely affect the people's trust and the shareholder," he said when met at Sentuhan Kasih Semarak Ramadhan programme at Putra Regency Hotel here today.
The programme, organised by Perlis and Kedah Jasa saw 30 orphans from both states receiving Aidilfitri aid.
