After a star studded experience at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur @ Mosaic, we wondered if the Hilton Kuala Lumpur could match the experience the night before.
Well other than having Chef Wan at the event, the Hilton did very well to give us another fabulous taste experience with their great tasting fare. Every single item sampled was simply outstanding.
I am not kidding, the reason we have 4 judges reviewing each fare is to ensure fairness and also make sure there is consensus on what we deem good or bad. All the judges gave a big thumbs up to the Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
What a change it has been, Good Management by The Operations Director Mr. Lucky Ou and his Assistant F&B Director Mr. Nazly Ibrahim has changed the place around. After last nights experience Hilton KL is a serious front runner for the competition. Not only the food has improved tremendously, the service and friendliness of the folks at the Hilton KL has improved too.
As you walk in you will be greeted with a glimpse of the majestic roast lamb and the open fire in the oven, the sight is simply beautiful, You immediately know you are in for a treat. No doubt this is a must have section as diners enjoyed the nasi briyani and roast lamb. They even had roast chicken.
Something about a whole meat like a lamb or chicken on skewers over a fire that ignites the taste buds.
We then had a must have in all buka puasa buffets, the bubur lambuk, it was very tasty and some of us could not help but take extra spoon full's
We then had the hot dishes such as ayam kai kapitan, siput belitong masak gulai, gulai tunjang peranakan, ayam buah keluak, udang masak lemak nenas, bendi goreng berlada, Rendang Daging and every single item was simply delicious,
The Chines style hot dishes were equally good: Braised Sea Cucumber with black fungus, Ayam Pongteh, Egg Fu Yong, Singapore Crabs. Our mouths was full of different flavors by then.
We decided to taste the Japanese fare and they had some of the best Sushi and Sashimi they had a mind blowing wasabi too. They even had Kimchi on the side., The Seafood, Prawns, Mussels, Crabs, and Oysters were fresh and tasty.
The Northern Indian section fare was very delicious too with Mugh Methi, Palak Paneer, Padelanka Pakora, Dhall Curry and Vegrtables Jalfrizi, They even had a vegetarian corner. For those who love their meats they had the usual Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka,
We have a new definition for Lok Lok now, "Satay Celup", they had a wide variety that diners could choose from.
The Noodle Live Cooking Station was another popular section with diners as they had their noodles cooked to their liking.
By the way for those who love their Kerabu and Ulam Ulam they have an extensive variety here.
Diners could make their own salads to with one of the most ingredients in any buffet seen so far
Another Live Cooking Station that was a crowd favourite was the Grill Section with a choice of fish, chicken and seafood.
They have a good variety of breads available and even some pasta.
For Desserts you could make your own ABC and top it up with some delicious Ice Cream. They had a variety of western Cakes and pudding from Red Velvet to Pandan Tiramisu which was delicious.
The usual Bread & Butter pudding was lovely too
In the dessert soup section you had the usual popular pengat pisang but a unique addtion was Tau Fu Fah!
The display of local tradiotional Malay kuih was simply awesome and a work of art. They not only looked good but tasted great.
To Wash it all down you had teh tarik, nescafe tarik, soya bean, sugar cane and seasonal fruits.
While you enjoying the feast put up by the Hilton Hotel Kuala Lumpur, you will be entertained by a 4 piece band belting our some soothing Malay numbers.

The Management at the Hilton did a great job this year and so to sum it up, The Hilton Kuala Lumpur Buka Puasa offering is very highly recommended!
They wanted to serve durians but simply didn'y have a suitable area within the hotel. Maybe next year they will consider serving it at the Poolside or Valet Parking area.
