KANGAR: Six teenagers claimed trial after earlier pleading guilty to rioting in connection with a bullying case at an orphanage.
The six, ages 13 to 15, changed their plea before Magistrate Nik Mohd Tarmizie Nik Mohd Shukri who fixed Jan 14 for mention pending a behaviour report.
They were first charged in the Juvenile Court here on Nov 6 when they admitted to the charges.
They were accused of committing the offences between May 31 and Jun 1 at the Asrama Anak-Anak Yatim Kompleks Penyayang Dr Siti Hasmah hostel in Jejawi near here for causing hurt and using violence on an 11-year-old boy.
Their actions were caught on video which which went viral and drew criticisms from netizens.
In the video clip, the victim was seen sobbing and begging for mercy while being assaulted by the group, all residents at the home.
