TEAM Malaysia celebrated remarkable achievements at the ICU World Cup in Korea, with the Junior Team clinching first place and the Senior Team earning a well-deserved second place. Despite facing significant challenges, both teams displayed exceptional talent, resilience, and determination on the international stage.

The Junior Team, comprising 19 athletes aged 15-19, delivered a flawless routine that secured the gold medal, surpassing Wuhan Cogdel Cranleigh High School from China. The Senior Team, made up of 20 athletes aged 19-34, gave a commendable performance to claim silver, finishing just behind Chinese Taipei.

These accomplishments were achieved despite the teams battling illness and injuries among both athletes and coaches, forcing last-minute adjustments to their routines. Their perseverance and teamwork shone through, earning Malaysia recognition and respect on the global cheerleading stage.

Lim Chin Hau, President of the Cheerleading Association and Register of Malaysia (CHARM), expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from all quarters:

“These victories would not have been possible without the dedication of our athletes, coaches, and the incredible support from our sponsors. We are deeply grateful to all our sponsors for their generosity and belief in Team Malaysia, as well as to the parents and supporters who stood by us throughout this journey.”

The success at the ICU World Cup is a proud moment for Malaysia, underscoring the nation’s growth as a formidable presence in international cheerleading. The Junior Team’s triumph and the Senior Team’s resilience are testaments to the team’s hard work and the invaluable backing of their supporters.
