1,324 companies from 60 countries participating in Defense Services Asia 2024 and National Security Asia 2024 Exhibition from 6-9 May, 2024

 



KUALA LUMPUR - A total of 1,324 companies from 60 countries are participating in the Defense Services Asia 2024 and National Security Asia 2024 Exhibition (DSA 2024 & NATSEC ASIA 2024) which will take place from today until May 9 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC).


Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said, this edition saw as many as 34 pavilion groups from the largest countries such as Turkey, China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Italy and the United States.


He said, with the theme "Building National Resilience For Future Generations", the exhibition focused on the development of the national defense industry as well as strengthening international cooperation.


"We cannot deny how important it is for us to hold this exhibition and we can see that there has been improvement and progress compared to the last event in 2022.


"The joint participation of the two Ministers of Defense and the Minister of Home Affairs once again confirms the government's firm commitment to drive forward the defense and security agenda both domestically and on the global stage," he said during a press conference after visiting the final preparations for the exhibition here. today.


Mohamed Khaled said, the area of ​​the exhibition site this year is 30 percent larger than the previous edition which covers an area of ​​48,000 square meters.


"In addition, it was found that there was an increase in the participation of delegations from foreign countries where there were as many as 400 VVIP delegations from more than 50 countries and regions.


"For the first time this exhibition is participated by the UAE, Iran and Singapore," he said.


He said, the government's presence and support is a commitment to ensure that not only the exhibition is successful but also an attraction in the region for the defense and security sectors in the country.


"We know that comparisons are made and our position compared to other countries and I hope that through what we exhibit this year, we will be able to improve our position," he said.


Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said, the exhibition shows the government's commitment in supporting programs like this which greatly benefit the country and the people.


"This exhibition will be a meeting platform that fulfills the pre-conditions to make DSA 2024 and NATSEC ASIA 2024 a very meaningful international event in the schedule of major events hosted by the country.


"This is where we will later witness the presence of various industry players, leaders of foreign countries, industry leaders who will later become a platform not only to showcase all kinds of technology and equipment but to manage challenges in the increasingly complex and dynamic field of security and defense," he said.
