Khazanah appoints Hisham Hamdan as the new Chief Investment Officer

KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd announced the appointment of Datuk Hisham Hamdan as its new Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective today, March 6, 2024.
In a statement, the country's sovereign wealth fund said Hisham's appointment enables a greater focus on building Khazanah's capabilities as an investment institution and creating new capacities and capabilities, particularly to achieve the company's value creation and impact goals.
Khazanah Managing Director Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir believes Hisham's extensive experience and knowledge will be an asset to Khazanah's continued efforts in providing the organization with the necessary capacity building as well as institutionalizing talent development.
"This, together with the long-term strategy of Advancing Malaysia, will enable us to strengthen our position in the face of challenging global market conditions," he added.
Hisham, 57, joined Khazanah in April 2011 from Sime Darby Bhd and holds two degrees in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Management from Purdue University, United States.
He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
