TELUK INTAN: Six teenage boys were arrested after they were believed to be involved in a case of gang rape of a Form 2 female student, at a house in Hutan Melintang, here, last September.
Hilir Perak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri said, five of the teenagers were students from the same school as the victim, while another had dropped out of school.
According to Ahmad Adnan, his party received a complaint regarding the incident from the victim's mother last Tuesday, at 8.30pm.
"The incident was informed by the school to the victim's mother before a police report was made.
"The incident is believed to have happened on September 24 at about 2.30am in a house around Hutan Melintang.
"The 14-year-old victim was picked up by a known school friend and taken to the house.
"When arriving at the scene, there were several known men resting in the house.
"The victim was then invited to have sex in turn by five local men aged between 15 and 17, except for the one who brought the victim to the house," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Ahmad Adnan said, acting on the information, on Wednesday, October 18, the police arrested six suspects.
"All the suspects were remanded for three days from October 18 to 20.
"Since the victim is still a minor, the police are conducting an investigation under Section 375b of the Penal Code, which is gang rape.
"The investigation into this case is considered completed by the police. The investigation papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions," he added.
