PH Pahang agrees to cooperate with BN to form a state government

Kuantan: Pahang's Pakatan Harapan (PH) has agreed to cooperate with the state's Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a state government after the 15th General Election (GE-15).

The matter was confirmed by Pahang DAP Chairman Leong Ngah Ngah when contacted here.

"Yes, PH Pahang agreed to cooperate with BN Pahang, but we are waiting for an official decision from the central leadership (PH)," he said simply.

The Pahang state government hangs in the balance after the GE-15 results saw no party obtain a simple majority to form the state government.

In GE-15, BN won 16 seats while PH won eight seats with six of them coming from DAP, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 17 seats.

There are 42 DUN seats in Pahang, but the voting process for the Tioman State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will only be held on December 7 following the death of the PN candidate there, Md Yunus Ramli, 61, at 3.30am on the day of GE-15 voting.
