KUALA LUMPUR: The Election Commission (SPR) will hold a special meeting to discuss and determine an important date for the 15th General Election (GE15) on 20 October.

EC Secretary, Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak, said the special meeting will also discuss and determine an important date for the By-Election (PRK) of the Bugaya State Assembly (DUN), Sabah.

"The special meeting will be held on October 20 at the same time as Thursday at 10am at Menara SPR, Putrajaya.

"The special meeting will be chaired by EC Chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh, who will discuss the date of the election writ, candidate nomination day, voting day, voter register to be used and other preparations.

"A press conference will be held immediately after the meeting," he said in a statement
