Contact TNB immediately if your premises is flooded

PETALING JAYA - The public, especially those affected by the floods, are asked to contact Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) if the premises are flooded at a dangerous level so that the electricity supply can be stopped immediately.

TNB in a statement said, the public can call the TNB CareLine line at 15454 or the TNB CareLine Facebook to inform the matter.

"The power outage is temporary to ensure the safety of the public and will be resumed when the floods recede and the situation returns to safety," said TNB today.

Meanwhile, commenting on the electricity supply in the Klang area affected by the flash floods, TNB said, active efforts are being carried out by it to ensure that electricity supply can be restored.

"The redistribution of supply will be done in stages depending on access, local conditions and security factors," he said.

At the same time, TNB asked consumers to adopt some electrical safety guidelines, among others, when the premises are flooded, make sure the main switch is closed to reduce the possibility of electric shock.

“Do not touch any equipment or electrical cable that is submerged in flood water even if it is coated with insulation.

“If you need to move, before moving, turn off the main input supply at the distribution board by closing the main switch.

"Make sure all the switches in the outlet sockets are closed and remove the power plugs of electrical equipment," he said.
