Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan will not walk free today as the sessions court has rejected his bail in the drugs case.

He was sent to 14-days judicial custody on October 7 and has been lodged at the Arthur Road jail since then. After the Narcotics Control Bureau strongly opposed Aryan’s bail plea, Aryan’s lawyer argued that no contraband was found on Aryan and that he will not tamper with evidence.

However, the NDPS court ruled that Aryan's custody should be extended and the star son will continue to stay at the Arthur Road jail.

In his bail application Aryan had stated that he was "innocent" and "falsely implicated in the present crime", and concluded with an assurance of not tampering the investigation or absconding.

While the NCB, in its reply to the bail plea, alleged that material collated during investigation revealed the accused No 1 (Aryan Khan) has a role in illicit procurement and distribution of contraband.

The NCB stated that Aryan procured contraband from Accused No. 2 (Arbaaz Merchant), from whom 6 grams of Charas was recovered.

The investigating agency also stated that Aryan Khan was in touch with people who appear to be a part of an international drug network. In afresh update, the NCB on October 20 submitted new revelations to the court.

ANI quoted the NCB and tweeted, “Police has found a drug related WhatsApp chats that are allegedly between Aryan Khan and a debut Actress.”

Aryan Khan and eight others have been booked under Section 8C, 20B, 27 (Punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance), 35 (Presumption of culpable mental state) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act), 28 and 29.

While in prison, Aryan Khan has been kept in a special barrack and is being closely monitored by the officials.

Soon after he was sent to judicial custody, Shah Rukh Khan has sent Rs 4,500 through money order to the prison for his son’s canteen expenses.

Jail superintendent Nitin Waychal had confirmed to ANI that a money order of Rs 4,500 was received by the jail authorities from Aryan Khan's family on October 11.

According to the prison rules, a prisoner can receive a money order of Rs 4500 maximum for their expenses inside the jail. Last week, Aryan Khan had got an opportunity to speak to Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan for the first time in 12 days.

He was allowed a video call with his parents, a facility that was introduced by jail authorities during the pandemic last year for inmates to communicate with their families and lawyers. “Aryan gave his mother’s number. He spoke to his mother and father through the video call facility for 10 minutes,” a senior jail official confirmed to TOI.
