COVID-19: 68 more deaths, 12 of them out of hospital

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 68 new deaths due to COVID-19 infection as of midnight last night.
This brings the total number of deaths due to the outbreak to 27,593 cases.
According to MOH data on the COVIDNOW portal, a total of 12 out of 68 deaths reported occurred outside the hospital (brought-in-dead or BID)
However, the number of deaths reported also includes a number of outstanding cases as some of the deaths occurred a few weeks ago.
The backlog of the case occurred because the process of confirming whether a COVID-19 patient died as a result of the pandemic, took time.
A daily death case was reported yesterday.
Based on the average number of actual daily death cases over seven days, the mortality trend of COVID-19 patients showed a consistent decline in the total number of fully vaccinated populations as well as those receiving at least one dose of vaccine.
