Man, 41, killed after getting knocked over multiple times by 4WD vehicle

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 41-year-old man who sells motorcycle spare parts was killed after a heated argument with a man.
In the accident that occurred at Jalan Perniagaan Santuari in Simpang Ampat on Monday (March 2) at around 10pm, the victim was killed after he was knocked over by a four-wheel drive vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene, but the brutal act had been photographed by the public and circulated on social media.
It is believed that the suspect drove the victim's car and knocked into the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Acting Seberang Prai Tengah (SPT) OCPD Supt Mohd Mustafa Bidin said initial investigations showed that the 4WD vehicle that killed the victim was registered under his company, and was driven away by the suspect after the incident.
"The postmortem will be held on Tuesday (March 3) morning.
"We urge the public with information on the incident to come forward to aid investigations at the nearest police station," he said.
Supt Mustafa said police were looking for the bespectacled suspect, believed to be male with dark skin, about 170cm tall with thin, curly hair.
"He was wearing a black shirt and jeans at the time of the incident," he added.
