Shortly after four positive COVID-19 cases came out from the Brooklyn Nets camp, fears began to rise in the Los Angeles Lakers camp. The Nets played their last game against the Lakers before the league’s suspension. The Los Angeles franchise has released a statement on Tuesday about their further actions on it.
"We have been in immediate contact with our players and basketball operations staff members since being made aware of this development,” the Lakers said in a statement Tuesday.
“Given the exposure risks from our game against the Nets on March 10th, we are following the next steps of our COVID-19 procedures and protocol that are established in consultation with various health officials, the NBA and our UCLA Health doctors.”
“The health and well-being of our players, staff, fans, and society in general, is of paramount importance to us, and will continue to be our focus,” the statement further read. “We appreciate the support of our fans, family and friends, and wish everyone affected by this virus a speedy and healthy recovery.”

Los Angeles Lakers will test their players for the

On Tuesday, the Nets announced four positive cases among their players for the dreaded coronavirus. After Utah Jazz’s Rudy Gobert & Donovan Mitchell, and Detroit Pistons’ Christian Wood, the NBA now has seven positive coronavirus cases.
The Nets said that, while four of their players; test results are showing positive, only one of them is showing symptoms.
“Four Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus,” the team said in a statement. “Of the four, one player is exhibiting symptoms while three are asymptomatic. All four players are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians.” Out of them was former MVP Kevin Durant.
As a precautionary measure, Los Angeles Lakers players will be under a 14-day self-quarantine period- just like Jazz’s recent opponents were following Gobert’s infection.
The Lakers are also looking to test their players for the virus on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the league remains inactive amidst the increasing threat of the coronavirus. The board of governors will meet on Thursday to discuss further actions regarding the league.
