Negri police arrest rubber tapper for allegedly raping daughter

SEREMBAN: Police have arrested a suspect in his 40s for alleged incest with his juvenile daughter.
Tampin OCPD Supt Ramli Kasa said the rubber tapper from Felda Bukit Jalor in Gemencheh near Tampin was detained at the Air Kuning Selatan police station on Friday (Feb 8).
"We have obtained a 12-day remand against the suspect to facilitate a probe. The suspect's daughter who is now 16 years and 10 months old had on Jan 30 lodged a report alleging she was sexually assaulted," he said.
Supt Ramli said the victim in her report had also claimed that she was raped by the suspect since she was 12.
She also alleged that the suspect had raped her younger sister who was now 12 on several occasions.
Supt Ramli said the police were probing the case under section 376B of the Penal Code for rape.
If found guilty, he can be jailed for a period between 10 and 30 years and whipped upon conviction.
