KUALA KUBU BARU: Police have arrested another two suspects in connection with the sex video allegedly implicating a Cabinet minister, says Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador.

The Inspector-General of Police confirmed the two were arrested in Shah Alam on Friday (July 19).

"I can confirm that we have made two more arrests yesterday in Shah Alam.

"We will also be extending the remand on some of the individuals previously arrested in connection with the case.

"Investigations are ongoing and we are still in the midst of recording statements and taking action, so there is always the possibility that more arrests will be made," he told reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the National Police Cadets Camping event at Kem Bina Semangat here on Saturday (July 20).

On Monday (July 15), the Magistrate's Court issued a six-day remand order for Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz to assist police investigations into the sex video.

Sources confirmed that Haziq Abdullah was among those whose remand has been extended. However, details of the remand extension were not available at press time.

The police have so far remanded nine people in connection to this case, including Farhash, who is also the political secretary of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Abdul Hamid also did not mince words when he said the case was a huge waste of police time.

"This whole thing is political. I have been urged from day one to verify the authenticity of the video.

"Now after doing so, I am being accused of making political statements," he said, adding that political parties that wanted to fight among themselves should do so within the "teacup".

He said they should have their storm in the cup and leave it at that.

"Don't bring your fights out into the public and get everyone else involved and make the police waste their time and resources to investigate such petty matters," he added.
