EUROPE VISA WAIVER FOR MALAYSIA CITIZENS

Malaysian citizens who plan to visit Europe will need to apply online for an ETIAS visa waiver for Malaysia, from the year 2021.
ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) was created to improve the screening of travelers to the region. The system was designed by the EU to strengthen border control and to protect both Europeans living in the Schengen Zone, and visitors traveling to it.
EUROPE VISA WAIVER REQUIREMENTS FOR MALAYSIAN CITIZENS
Up until 2021, citizens traveling to Europe to Malaysia do not need to apply for a visa for trips up to 90 days.
However, this will change from 2021 onwards. Malaysians will need to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver, which will be obtainable through the online application system.
To be able to apply, Malaysian citizens will need to have meet the following three basic ETIAS requirements for Malaysian citizens:
A valid passport with three months remaining (upon arrival)
An email address (needed to receive the ETIAS visa waiver)
A credit or debit card (to pay for the ETIAS visa waiver)
Malaysian travelers should always keep a valid ID on their person during their visit to Europe.
THE ETIAS APPLICATION PROCESS FOR MALAYSIANS
The ETIAS visa waiver will be a legal requirement for Malaysians from 2021. It will be possible to apply for one by completing a basic application form, which includes personal and travel information. Applicants will also be required to provide their passport details, and information about their health.
The final step in the travel authorization application is payment, which should is made using a credit or debit card.
MALAYSIA TO THE SCHENGEN ZONE WITH ETIAS
The ETIAS visa waiver will allow Malaysians to travel freely, between countries, around the Schengen Zone. The visa waiver is valid for 3 years, or until the ETIAS holder’s passport expires. If the passport expires, the traveler will need to apply for a new ETIAS visa waiver to enter the Schengen Zone.
From 2021 onwards, the ETIAS visa waiver will be an obligatory legal requirement for Malaysians when entering the Schengen Zone.
An information provided by the applicant is screened and checked against various European security databases. ETIAS applicants should be aware that their information will be used in this way.
