SHAH ALAM: Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly snuck into the women's toilet at a petrol station and attempted to take pictures of a woman while she was trying to relieve herself.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib said the 34-year-old woman, who works as a lawyer, had lodged a report about the incident that occurred at around 11.50pm on Wednesday (June 12).

"Based on her report, she claimed that she entered the toilet at a petrol station at Batu Tiga here and was relieving herself when she noticed a shadow outside the cubicle.

"She said shortly after, she saw someone try to stick a mobile phone under the door," he told reporters at the Shah Alam police headquarters on Thursday (June 13).

He said CCTV footage from the petrol station showed a man holding his mobile phone while walking out of the toilet there.

"We urge anyone with information on the case to contact the police immediately.

"We have classified the case under Section 509 of the Penal Code for gestures intended to insult the modesty of a person," he said.

Twitter user @aziluwin posted the video and a picture of the suspect via her account.

In her post she said, "HELP ME RT GUYS!! THIS IS A REPOST Location: Petrol station heading to Shah Alam, beside Chinese graveyard Date/Time: 11/6/19, 11.15 pm, Suspect: Malay, driving Viva".
