50,000 expected at PM’s open house

PUTRAJAYA: Some 50,000 people are expected to attend the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his Cabinet members on the first day of Syawal.
The event will be from 10am to 4pm at Seri Perdana.
In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Department said the public is invited to attend the open house and that they should dress appropriately for the occasion.
“Free shuttle service to Seri Perdana will be available from three locations – Putrajaya Sentral, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin mosque and the Putra mosque – every 15 to 20 minutes from 9.30am.
In Kangar, Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid will hold an open house on the first day of Hari Raya.
A statement issued by the office of the state secretary said the open house will be held at Dataran Majlis off Istana Arau from 9am to 11.30am.
The state ruler and his consort, as well as Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, will receive guests and exchange greetings.
The statement also said that the royal family would perform Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayers at the state mosque in Arau
