Two winners from same Toto shop on same day

KUALA LUMPUR: A punter and a group of seven which bought Toto tickets from the same branch in Menglembu, Perak have become multi-millionaires overnight.
Together, they bagged more than RM52mil in the draw on May 25.
A 79-year-old retiree from Perak won over RM27mil from the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 game after betting on his pair of winning numbers “1484” and “1311”, which were taken from the serial numbers of two RM50 notes.
He admitted to being a regular punter, with “new ideas” on what numbers to try his luck on.
“I decided to bet on both sets of the serial numbers for two draws, and I hit the jackpot!” he said.
The retiree said he had no plans yet on what to do with his cash prize but said he would definitely share it with his family members.
The remaining RM25mil was cashed in by a group of seven, which comprised a mother, son and his colleagues, in the Power Toto 6/55 jackpot game.
The son, a 36-year-old engineer, said the group spent RM210 to buy Lucky Pick tickets for three consecutive draws and they won the jackpot in the last draw with the set of winning numbers – 1, 5, 22, 29, 34 and 54.
“We knew the jackpot for the lotto game was quite large, so we tried our luck with the Lucky Pick tickets.
“None of us was aware that we had won the jackpot on May 25.
“It was my mother who found out about the good news two days later after we heard that the outlet had two jackpot winners,” he said, adding that the RM25mil will be equally shared among the group.
