PETALING JAYA: A photograph of Kuala Lumpur at night with Genting Highlands in the background is making jaws drop on social media.

The stunning photograph, taken by Tan Jun Hong and uploaded onto his Facebook account, got over 12,000 likes, and had some people claiming that it had been photoshopped.



Tan said his picture was neither a double exposure nor a composite images merged into one.

"It is 100% real," he said, adding that the shot was taken from an undisclosed private housing area not accessible to the public.


"Kuala Lumpur, the garden city of lights. With numerous skyscrapers including the famous KLCC tower, and with a bit of luck, Genting Highlands at the back. Rarely to see this view as you need a clear sky and pray for the fog to go away in the mountains," he wrote on his Facebook account.

According to Tan, people saying a photo was either fake or photoshopped was the best compliment a photographer could ever get.

He aid in another post that he had been wanting to shoot this photo for years.

"A zoom lens was what I lacked. As soon as I got the lens, luck was on my side as soon I encountered with this stunning view.

"Set my tripod, had it on timelapse mode," he wrote, adding that he watched the latest episode of Game of Thrones before retrieving his camera.

He said while the whole photograph was real, but parts of it were lightly photoshopped with basic enhancement and tone adjustments.

Tan also provided a link for people to download the original high-resolution picture for personal use.
