Our 2018 Ramadhan Buka Puasa Review of The Top Spots in the Klang Valley to break fast brought us to a spot in Bangsar South - V E Hotel & Residence to review their "Straits Festival" Iftar spread.
To be honest this hotel is one of the best kept secrets of Kuala Lumpur. V E Hotel and Residence opened in 2016 and is the only hotel in the Bangsar South area
As we parked and walked in to the lobby of the hotel we were surprised to see how spacious the hotel was since it was our first visit there. It looked like a 5 Star Hotel. We arrived late because of the traffic and headed straight for the food so we could select what we needed to review.
The Director of Operations Sidi Fikri ensured we were served the main dishes like the Satay and Lamb so that helped us a lot.
The Straits Festival Iftar was located at the coffee house which was huge and very spacious. The place had a very modern contemporary look.
LIVE COOKING STATIONS
They had a couple of Live Cooking Stations such as the Lamb and Satay BBQ Pits ,Soup Gearbox or beef ribs soup stall to Laksa, Roti John, Popiah Basah or Rojak, Shawarma and Ais Kacang stalls. All set against a beautiful backdrop. The rest of the fare were on 5 counter tops.
We sampled the beef satay first and we were surprised to find it so tender and succulent, I had to look twice if it was chicken or beef, when the chicken satay came it too was well marinated with the perfect char on the meat after it had been grilled to perfection on a charcoal platform. The Serunding ayam was very tasty too.
We then sampled the whole roasted lamb which was delicious crispy on outside and succulent on the inside.
Overall if you are in the Bangsar and PJ area this is a great place to break your fast.

The best kept secret at the buffet is the Ice Cream, not many actually know that V E serves Haagen Daz Ice Cream ! If the diners knew that I am quite sure the Ice Cream counter would be run over!
