Spritzer water and Red Eagle cooking oil companies give RM1mil to Tabung Harapan

IPOH: Two Perak-based companies have stepped forward to contribute RM1mil to Tabung Harapan.
Mineral water company Spritzer Bhd and Yee Lee Corporation Bhd, known for its Red Eagle cooking oil, have each donated RM500,000 to the fund.
Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming, who received the funds on behalf of the Government, said he felt touched and appreciated the gesture by the two companies.
"The donation by the two companies is the biggest by far from Perak.
Nga said the donation to the fund was voluntary and the Government does not force people to donate.
"It's a kind gesture on a voluntary basis, and also a patriotic act.
"The amount is irrelevant. What matters is that it comes from the heart," he said.
Spritzer executive director Dr Chuah Chaw Teo, in representing both Spritzer and Yee Lee, said they are proud to contribute towards helping the country in its time of need.
"We hope we can encourage others to rise up and come forward to help the country face the challenges ahead," he said.
