Police Still Tracing Suspect in Recent Steering Lock Attack By Woman

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman whose car had just been clamped attacked a man under contract with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), nearly injuring him.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said that a report was made on June 5.


“The complainant was working at Metro Perdana Barat, Kepong on June 4 at that time. After he clamped a car, a woman came up to him and asked him to release the vehicle without payment.

“The complainant insisted on payment before doing so.

“The suspect then threatened the complainant and his co-worker before hitting him with a steering lock at the leg and hand areas.

“His colleague defused the situation,” he told The Star on Tuesday.

ACP Munusamy added that the victim suffered no injuries from the attack.

“Efforts to trace down the suspect is still underway,” he said.

The video of the exchange, lasting one minute and 49 seconds, has gone viral as well.

In the short video, the woman in question can clearly be seen bringing out a baseball bat-like steering lock to attack the victim.

Last November, former accountant Liew Yoke Peng was fined RM3,000 in default three months' jail by a magistrate's court for preventing a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) enforcement officer from doing his job.

Liew, 43, was convicted of wilfully obstructing Nor Safuan Noordin, 31, from performing his duty, under Section 186 of the Penal Code.

According to the facts of the case, Liew had parked her car illegally, prompting Nor Safuan to clamp the vehicle.

Incensed by the action, she took a steering wheel lock and brandished it at Nor Safuan, while berating him, in another video that went viral.
