Two firemen killed in head-on collision with lorry

KUALA SELANGOR: Two firemen have been killed and two others injured when the pick-up truck they were travelling in collided head-on with a tanker here.

Kuala Selangor OCPD Supt Ruslan Abdullah said the accident occurred at a traffic light junction along KM32 of the Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan at around 7.30am on Tuesday.

"The Fire and Rescue Department's Nissan Navara vehicle was heading from Kuala Selangor towards Klang when the Volvo tanker rammed into it from the opposite direction.

"The collision flung the Navara into the opposing lane where it was hit by a Perodua Myvi car '' he said when contacted Tuesday.


He said one of the deceased, Mohamad Firdaus Mohd Nazri, 29, suffered severe head, facial and chest injuries and died while receiving treatment at the Tanjung Karang Hospital.

The other deceased fireman, Amir Hamzah Saharudin, 23, died on the way to the Sungai Buloh Hospital, he said.
