TAPAH: Owners who sent their vehicles for repairs at the house-cum-workshop of the murder suspects in Jalan Pahang here have gone back to claim their wheels.
Tapah OCPD Supt Som Sak Din Keliaw said the vehicles were removed from the scene because they were not part of the evidence.
The vehicles were sent for repairs before the suspects were arrested.
“Police had granted the owners permission when they met the suspects at the site two days ago requesting to take back their vehicles.
“Today, the vehicle owners are here accompanied by police and the eldest daughter of the suspects to ensure the process was done in an orderly manner,” he said yesterday.
According to a police source, the 23-year-old daughter, who arrived at the scene with plainclothes officers at about 1pm, was also there to feed the family’s dogs, chicken and ducks there.
It was initially reported that the family reared around 30 dogs in the compound, but only a few of them were seen at the site yesterday.
It is learnt that most of them are now under the jurisdiction of the Tapah Municipal Council and are due to be moved elsewhere should the police decide to carry out investigations on the animals.
A group of workers and contractors were seen as early as 11am yesterday moving parts of a Mitsubishi Pajero and other old car parts from the workshop using a crane.
A handful of curious onlookers could not help but stop by at the site when lorries entered the compound to move vehicles and vehicle parts.
Last Monday, police arrested the family, comprising a 57-year-old mechanic, his 54-year-old wife and two sons aged 17 and 20, at their house-cum-workshop where several murders allegedly took place.
