Malaysia Wins 42 Gold Medals at Sea Games Surpassing The 40 Gold Target.

SEA GAMES: Malaysia bags 42 gold medals


NAYPYITAW: Malaysia achieved the 40-gold medal target through Ooi Tze Liang-Nazreen Abdullah in the men's 10m platform synchro event today with the tally now at 42.

Tze Liang-Nazreen amassed a 386.28 total for the country’s first gold medal in the discipline since the 2001 Kuala Lumpur edition.
 
Malaysia bagged their 41th Sea Games gold medal in men's hockey in Yangon.
 
Tai Beng Hai's side, comprising seniors and youngsters, hammered Singapore 5-0 in the final.
Malaysia achieved the 40-gold medal target through Ooi Tze Liang-Nazreen Abdullah in the men's 10m platform synchro event today.

 
Meanwhile, the 42nd gold medal came from Leong Mun Yee-Nur Dhabitah Sabri who ensured a clean sweep in diving by winning the women’s 10m platform synchro today.
 
The pair posted 281.64 points for the title.
 
Mun Yee officially set a record of becoming the first Malaysian to make nine straight appearance in the Sea Games.
 

In football, two early goals by Hariss Harun saw Singapore down Malaysia 2-1 in the Sea Games men's football bronze medal playoff at the Zeyar Thiri Stadium today.
 
Hariss struck in the 13th and 15th minutes before Malaysia replied through A. Thamil Arasu's opportunistic goal in the 68th minute.
 
The defeat means Malaysia, champions in 2009 and 2011, failed to win a medal for the first time since 2007.
