Director of Media and Strategic Communications of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Rozaid Abdul Rahman died on Sunday.
KUALA LUMPUR: Director of Media and Strategic Communications of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Rozaid Abdul Rahman died on Sunday.
Rozaid, 60, reportedly breathed his last at his residence in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Previously, the deceased received treatment at Serdang Hospital since July 1 due to heart problems, and was discharged from the hospital on August 6.
"The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is saddened to inform that the Director of the Media and Strategic Communications Division at the PMO, Rozaid Abdul Rahman died this afternoon due to heart problems at his residence in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya," the PMO said in a statement.
"Allahyarham was appointed to the position on May 23, 2023.
"The Prime Minister's Office prays that his family is given strength and perseverance, and that all the sins of the deceased are forgiven and given a special place by His side," the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil in a speech on the X platform described the deceased as a dedicated and committed person in carrying out his duties.
In fact, he said, the passing of the deceased was a great loss for the media industry, and it was indeed felt and mourned.
"A friendly person, likes to help friends and is very respected. His passing is a great loss for the media industry, and it is certainly felt and mourned.
"May Allah SWT forgive all his sins and grant him heaven. Condolences to all family members and friends of the deceased," he said.
