Woman who stole a child's necklace at a fairground arrested

SHAH ALAM: The tactic of a woman stealing children's necklaces at the Jom Heboh Carnival site at Section 13 Stadium here, was revealed after her actions were recorded on Saturday.
Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said, a video recording of the suspect's actions has gone viral on social media.
He said, in the incident at about 5.40pm, the suspect took the necklace of a four-year-old girl by cutting it with an object and pulling the necklace.
"The suspect's actions were recorded by the child's aunt.
"Immediately after the incident, a 35-year-old local female suspect was successfully arrested at the location in question based on the video recording," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He added that a police report was also made at 8.09pm on the same day immediately after the theft.
He said the suspect, who has six previous convictions for theft, has been remanded for three days until next Tuesday for investigation under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
